ABOUT US

​We found each other a little later in life, after we’d already lived full, very different, and occasionally chaotic chapters of our own. Which probably explains… a lot.

Toni

I was born and raised in New Zealand on a small hobby farm before relocating to Australia at the impressionable age of 12. After high school, I packed my bags and headed to the US to attend university while working as a full‑time nanny. It was an adventure that delivered independence, perspective, and a very clear understanding of how exhausting small humans can be.

When I eventually returned to Australia and settled into my career, I had absolutely no idea that love would come knocking via a rental listing.

Brett

In 2009, I quite literally walked into Toni’s life thanks to realestate.com.au, renting her parents’ home while they were overseas. Born in Redcliffe, Brisbane, I’d spent much of my life moving around Queensland before landing back in Brisbane.

​

By then, I was a well‑established father of five and a proud poppy. My world couldn’t have been more different to Toni’s… but for reasons we still don’t fully understand, it worked.

​

We married seven years later and have been pushing each other’s buttons ever since.

We’ve always shared a love of travel, even if our styles didn’t initially align. Toni used to gravitate toward overseas adventures, while I preferred my feet firmly planted on Aussie dirt. So ironically, we honeymooned in a swag and loved every minute of it. That pretty much sealed our love affair with exploring Australia together.

These days, we’re a full‑time working couple squeezing adventure into every gap we can find. To keep things interesting, we both work in the same industry… at competing companies!

​

Whether we’re hitting the road on our Harleys, cruising on e‑bikes and e‑skateboards, jumping on a flight, or heading off‑grid with the Patriot Camper, we’re always chasing our next adventure. We love the people, the stories, ever‑changing landscapes, ridiculous sunsets, and the magic of plans that don’t quite go to plan.
