In our Last episode, we left you having had an amazing time on the Gregory River and Brett being mildly assaulted by a cow… and yes, there may have been a tiny, involuntary bladder situation involved! Remote, Relentless & Beautiful | Crossing the Roper Highway The Roper Highway takes us deep into some of the most remote country we’ve ever explored — and for days, we see just one other vehicle. Camping beside crocodile-infested rivers, battling oppressive heat, and pushing further than planned, this stretch of the Northern Territory tests both us and the gear. From skinny dipping amongst butterflies to stumbling upon a lost city that quite literally leaves us breathless, this is outback travel at its rawest. The Raptor is finally running faultlessly — a huge relief after everything we’ve been through — but we’re still crossing our fingers every kilometre as we push on, hoping luck stays on our side. 💨 Artesian bores, backroad chaos and 900km of classic Outback Australia This third leg of the journey had everything: steaming artesian baths, washed-out dirt tracks, top-notch bush camps, rowdy bogans, and the kind of roadside surprises only rural Queensland can deliver. We covered around 900km, from remote bores to bumpy backroads—and not everything went to plan (but that’s half the fun, right?).
